Introduction

Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who wrote a diary while in hiding with her family and four friends in Amsterdam during the German occupation in World War II.  For her thirteenth birthday on June 12,  1942, Anne received a book which she used as a diary.  She immediately began writing about herself, her family and friends, her school life, boys she flirted with and the places she liked to visit.  Anne loved to write and planned to become a writer.  Anne Frank’s life tragically ended before her 16th birthday with many unfulfilled dreams.

Task

With a partner you will research Anne Frank’s life.  Your task is to create a visual aid to illustrate her life’s accomplishments and hardships.  Choose a visual aid that will work best for you.  Some choices include a slide show, brochure, timeline or collage.  You will also do a brief oral presentation of your visual aid.  Topics to research include: Frank’s biography, her accomplishments,  her life in hiding, family betrayal and capture, her time in a concentration camp and the tragedy of her death.

Process

Decide what each person is going to research.  After you have gained your information, then decide how your group is going to illustrate the information.  Make a decision based on your experience and knowledge.  If you are really good with a computer, then a brochure or slide show is something you should consider.  If your experience with technology is limited, then consider another method.
